About us...

Members of our group include men and women from 20-something to 80. The primary purpose of the group is to bring together people from the gay, lesbian, bisexual... (rainbow) communities who have an interest in gardening and would like to share knowledge, skills, resources or just each other's company, and take advantage of being part of a group for organised social events and guided tours.

We welcome everyone - you do not have to have a garden or gardening experience. The group currently has no legal entity and it is free to join. While a mixed group, there is scope for special men's or women's events. Check out the Coming Events and Members Only pages.

A Potted History

The Rainbow Gardeners (Wellington) is the new name for the '3Gs' gardening group established during the early-mid 2000s that had been inactive for a while. It also used to be called the Wellington GLITTFaB Gardening Group. In early 2009, the group merged with a group that had been established for gay men.
